Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Michi-no-Eki Asagiri Kogen for its stunning, unobstructed views of Mt. Fuji, especially in the early morning. The availability of fresh local products, like rich milk, and the pleasant atmosphere make it a highly recommended stop for road trips. While generally not overly crowded, it can be busier on weekends.
"Like many road stations (michinoeki) in japan, this one is really a nice place to drop by if you're passing through. Even if you don't drive you can come here by a bus that runs between Mt. Fuji station (in yamanashi) and Shin-Fuji station (in Shizuoka). I came here by bus from Fujinomiya station and explored the area. It has a huge parking lot, toilets, showers, vending machines, souvenir shops, ice-cream, Fuji viewing observation deck and a lot more. There is a trail from here that goes to a spot called 'Fureai no Mori entrance'. It is a 50 min circular walking trail into the forested area in this neighbourhood (goes all the way up to the border of Yamanashi prefecture). After exploring the area, I walked 3-4 km south to the bus stop called 'Asagiri kogen' which has a nice Family Mart so you can rest there while waiting for your bus back to civilization. You can take great shots of Fuji and farmlands all along the way."

"We stay one day overnight. We arrive around 4 pm...it's a beautiful place to go around, walk and enjoy the day with a great view of mount Fuji. This sideroad has so many different options to enjoy the day there, good food, picnic areas, brewery, visitor information. If you can stay overnight choose the back parking lot and with a side view of Mt Fuji....if you woke up early in summer (4:30 am) maybe you will get an unforgettable view of Fuji.... Once in a life time experience."
