"If you’re heading to Enoshima Island, this bridge is your ceremonial rite of passage. It’s long, straight & has no shade...basically the treadmill of bridges, but at least you’re rewarded with ocean views & a cool sea breeze. Pro tip: bring water. Trust me. Halfway across, I started bargaining with the clouds for mercy.
Dropped off by the charming Enoden railcar (cutest train line ever), the walk to the island is actually part of the fun. On one side, blue skies & dramatic clouds; on the other, a lighthouse-topped island that looks like it belongs in a Studio Ghibli movie. The bridge builds the anticipation: you can almost hear it whisper, “Adventure (and uphill climbs with shops selling octopus crackers) awaits.”
