"My family and I have been visiting Gotenba regularly since 2008 and have stayed in the Tokinosumika resort several times. The illumination started off small, but we have watched it grow and improve over the years. It is really beautiful and adds to the romantic feel of the area. They have illumination longer than most areas too. They even have a summer display which runs until the end of August. There are plenty of places to eat, but please note the restaurants tend to close early (8 or 9 pm). The area is worth a visit during the day too, especially with kids, as there is lots to do."
