😊🇯🇵🌨️I left the Yunokawa Prince Hotel Nagisatei in Hakodate this morning. What a beautiful place! We had our own private onsen on the outdoor balcony and a delicious buffet breakfast. It was a Japanese style room with futons. The balcony overlooks the sea. I’m not sure if it’s the ocean or the strait between Honshu and Hokkaido. And, it’s snowing here in Hokkaido!! 😊🌨️❄️❄️😊🇯🇵😊

Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the therapeutic quality of the hot springs and the exceptional hospitality offered by ryokans, particularly the private open-air baths with sea views. The dining experiences are consistently praised for their deliciousness and presentation. Some guests noted that while it's a relaxing onsen town, it might not have the bustling atmosphere of larger hot spring resorts.

"Heading south from the roadside station, you will see a high-end hot spring inn called Soan on your left. Heading south for about 500m from there, you will see an ochre-coloured building on your right, which is Yunokawa Onsen.
There will also be a small sign, so you should be able to find it easily. It was about 15 minutes from the roadside station.
A drop-in bath costs 700 yen, and there is only an indoor bath, but it was nice.
Thank you very much."

"On October 19, 2024, we arrived from Shikoku by motorcycle in heavy rain at 5pm.

We were completely soaked from head to toe, from motorcycle boots to gloves to clothing, and our bodies were cold to the core, but we were warmly welcomed and our leather boots, gloves, and raincoats for the three of us were stored and dried by the time we left the next morning, so we were able to start our tour the next day in a good mood.

For dinner, the friendly Nakai-san with a Showa-era feel brought us the food, and the food was also full and delicious, including salt-grilled rosy seabass from Shimane beef, fresh sashimi, tempura, and more.

The private open-air bath was simply the best.

The three different open-air baths were luxurious spaces in terms of both atmosphere and hot springs.

When we left the next day, they lined up our bikes in front of the entrance and took photos of us. They were such a kind and thoughtful service that it was a memorable trip. I would definitely like to come back next year. Thank you so much for that."
