"I visited the Naoetsu Railway Festival 2025, which is also held in conjunction with Railway Day. While there are many express buses from Tokyo to Nagano, Niigata, and Toyama, there are no buses to the Joetsu area, so I had no choice but to take the JR line via Miyauchi.
In 2025, the D51 Rail Park will be open very few days. Due to the region's heavy snowfall in winter, it's not always available for viewing. On this day, the compressed-air Achiha D51 was only on display on the turntable, with no rides available. It appeared to move back and forth between the turntable and the roundhouse several times during the exhibition period. While inside the roundhouse, it went all the way to the back, so I didn't get a full view. The Wafu and Oya were also stingy, staying in the back. Perhaps they wanted to add some interest to the event since there was no admission fee.
