The museum's commitment to accessibility, with English-language tablets and an introductory video, is highly appreciated, as are the friendly and knowledgeable staff. While some note the limited number of original works, the overall experience is described as unforgettable and highly recommended for its distinctive charm.
"Very quiet, but beautiful museum. They have really thought about how the artwork of Ekin should be presented - never been to a museum like it. The candlelight presentation is a must see, and for fans of Ekin (or complete amateurs like us) it is unforgettable.
We didn't know much about Ekin before we went, but there was a well made video that explained his life and works before the exhibition. This was subtitled for us in English as our Japanese is not very good. They had a number of language options, and during the exhibition, the tablets we were given scanned QR codes and presented information in English - thank you to the staff who set that up for us!
It was quiet, but we were well looked after and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. I hope more tourists take the time to come here!"

"Unique museum with the local painter, Ekin, whose painting style is like Ukiyoe or Kanou, so if you like those types of art, must visit.
Paintings are merely 23 sets and you will mostly see replicas. Need more explanations to understand the wit and story behind the sceen. Watching video is recommended before start the tour.
Two parking lots are not in front of the building so check their web site before you visit by car."

"A wonderful little museum dedicated to the great late Edo painter Ekin. There are English subtitles and tablets that give descriptions for the artwork. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. I don't want to give away too much because I think it would take away some of the fun of the experience. Its's just a five minute walk from Akaoka station. If you get a chance don't miss this treasure!"
