"Like most tourist spot train stations, this station has some interesting spots surrounding it.
I am surprised that the Shikoku Senen Monogatari train makes a stop here. It looks really premium and the riders of the train go to special lounge when disembarking at this station.
I deduced that the train is a diseal train as it makes the same sound as trucks made. After some research apparently part of the railway is not electrified which is the trains that travels to those area are diseal based trains.

"This is a small station serving a number of train lines. This is where to go if you need to get in and out of Kotohira via train. You can buy train tickets straight from the window or the ticket machines. There are also instructions in a few other languages including English so that's helpful if you can't speak Japanese. I love that they renovated to maintain the 'old Showa era look'. Gives the place a bit of personality. There's a convenience store and some benches for waiting, but there's not much else here."
