What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Mount Kora Trails for its stunning panoramic views of Kurume City, especially from the Kora Taisha Shrine, and the serene beauty of its bamboo forest. The spiritual atmosphere and the opportunity for a good workout are also frequently highlighted. However, some find the trails, particularly the stairs, to be quite challenging and steep.
"One of our good acquaintance told us about Korasan and the famous Shrine Kora Taisha that was built on top of the hilly mountain with breathtaking scenery of KURUME City from the shrine itself.
It's quite convenient to go to Korasan if you have a car since the roads are a bit more curvy with steeps hills road to be driven through. However, there's a bus that you could take from Nishitetsu-Kurume bus station which leads you to the entrance of the hiking @ walkway path from the bottom of the mountain.
The bus doesn't really stop at the entrance it stops about probably around 3.2KM from the bottom of the mountain. The entrance is pretty obvious since it's literally a monument entrance of a shrine. It's an option if you want to go through the hiking shrines trails where you could enjoy the greenery view of trees and bamboo forest plus little shrines and religious monuments that you could find and see along the trails as you hike up the trails. You still need to hike up even more eventhough you've reach the main Shrine because it's not really the top of the Mountain yet.
Or another option is just to follow the regular steep and curvy hills roads and walk your way up to the top of the mountains.
It's a good weekend activity if you're up for a little exercise and adventure with your friends! Make sure to take a picture at stairs of Kora Taisha since it overlooks the view of KURUME City. The view is amazing!
If the weather is good you could go and watch the Sun rises from the mountain views."
