Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Kyoto Museum of Crafts and Design for its informative and innovative approach to showcasing Kyoto's rich heritage. The interactive exhibits and artisan demonstrations are frequently highlighted as engaging and inspiring. While some find the museum to be smaller than anticipated, its quality content and focus on craftsmanship leave a lasting positive impression.

"For some reason, I expected to see the history of arts and crafts, but this exhibition focused on showing you the craftsmanship of Kyoto. It was very very well put together, and very interactive. We had fun! My only problem was that it was so much smaller than we expected. It only takes up a tiny part of the building it's in.

When we bought the ticket, we also got a discount ticket for the museum shop."

"Small museum in Kyoto, it takes around 1h to check the exhibition. A lady was doing lacquer; although she did not interact with foreign visitors... I love design so I liked the spot."

Pri Sayuri

"Really enjoyed this museum - it is so informative and innovative. It's a great introduction to Kyoto and it's heritage of craftsmanship. It was great getting to have a go at some crafts and the interactive displays were brilliant!"
