What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Manshu-in Temple for its beautiful, tranquil gardens and historic rooms, offering a peaceful escape. However, the significant uphill walk from the nearest station is a common drawback, and some find the inability to walk directly in the gardens a minor disappointment compared to other Kyoto temples.
"Any place else but Kyoto and I’d likely say five stars. However, in comparison to many other Kyoto temples, it isn’t quite to that level (in my opinion). The two main drawbacks are (1) the extreme slog you’ll have to take to get here; it’s WAY up a steep hill close to almost nothing else and at least 30 minutes on foot from the nearest station, and (2) you can’t walk in the garden itself. It IS a beautiful garden and the temple itself IS very nice. I just prefer ones where you can walk through and “forest bathe” in the garden a little more directly."

"I visited the site with my professor and lab mates. We went to Kinzuka, a tomb dedicated for bacteria and other microbes. There we pray in tribute to the microbes we've used for our research. Overall, the scenery was beautiful."

"Very silent place, when i just got in, i thought its a boring place, but walk here for 20 mins, everybody got exhausted, its nice to rltake and rest and wait to see the night maple"
