How much to do in Kichijoji?

I've heard the area is considered one of the most desirable areas in Tokyo to live in, and while that obviously doesn't translate to being a great area for tourists, I have to imagine there is *something* for a visitor there. Japan-guide.com says nothing about the area, and…

Suggestions for cozy/chill parts and neighborhoods in Tokyo and Kyoto?

Hello! Me and my gf visited Tokyo last year, and probably as many others here, we started planning a new trip back to Japan just as we came back home. We loved it so much. On our last trip we did all the normal touristy things and went around the common busy places in Tokyo.…

Tokyo Itinerary Check (Jan 9 - Jan 20)

I've read through a bunch of guides and itineraries (including lonely planet guides, japan-guide, reddit) and come up with the below. Would love any feedback on it. I tried to do as much research/stuff on my own so as not to mooch off other people. Some days are quite packed so…

Help: Just not ‘getting’ Tokyo…

TLDR: I’ve been in Japan a week and loving it. Osaka, Nara, Hiroshima = awesome. Tokyo = I’m hating it so far and have 4x more nights paid up here. Now considering going back to Kyoto on the train for the stuff I missed, but will result in lots of back and forth as my flight is…

"Me and my mum got in a boat, and my other family members got in 2 other boats. It was super beautiful and super fun, until my mum stopped pedalling, which meant I had to put all of my energy into it instead, and I was exhausted afterwards.
Me and my other family members combined our boats to make a big boat wall, and everyone around found it very entertaining!
Highly recommend coming here"

"You pay for the rental through the vending machine. 800 yen for the swan paddle boat which is the most popular rental. You get 30 minutes.

It was really fun (and a bit tiring) making laps around the pond. It didn't seem crowded and we were able to get a boat immediately without waiting. We did have to swerve a few times to avoid colliding with others but that's part of the fun.

Lots of cute ducks in the pond too to look at and try to chase down in your boat. The boat is too slow to actually catch them though."

"They have a wide variety of boats available. Close to the station, perfect place to take the kids!"
