Hi, I'm going to study in Japan next year for my third year at Uni. I have a few more questions about the International Christian University and Akita International University since the last time I posted on this sub. My last post if you need more info:…

Has anyone here studied abroad through Hokkaido International Foundation (Hakodate) or International Christian University (Tokyo)? I need some help deciding on a program
I made it through Genki I and II and decided it would be best to study abroad this summer. I applied to these two programs in January. I am currently waitlisted at HIF (but there is still a good chance that I'll get in), and I was accepted into ICU. If anyone has attended…
What's missing from my Study Abroad costs list? (Going for 2026-27)
I've intentionally left out things that would go into my room/apartment so don't worry about that. All the figures listed are based on. Also, is housing really this cheap? As a UK student, I'm used to higher prices so it kinda took me aback. I've been looking on this site:…

"I had a chance to stay for two months at ICU as a research fellow back in 2019 before COVID-19. The environment was calm, and all of the professors and students were helpful. A long stay in the ICU was one of the best memories that I have ever had in my life."

"They are proud of bilingualism+1program which offers various language courses addition to the ELA and JLP.
Newly built dormitory is fascinating. Public buses, no.51 and no.93, drop you off inside the campus."
Aman JAPAN
"A beautiful secluded piece of country forest in the middle of one of the biggest cities in the world. You'd never know you were a stones throw away from Tokyo on this campus. The entrance as other pics show is lined with sakura trees, almost a hundred if memory serves, and is quite nice to come to during their blossom season. You should know this university is Christian in name only. Many of the professors may be Christian but the student body certainly isn't and it does not much impact classes or campus life almost at all."
