Okinawa soba shop in Tsuboya street. Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Tsuboya Pottery Museum a relaxing and informative gem, especially appreciated on rainy days. The museum effectively showcases the history of Yachimun pottery and features an interesting old kiln. While some wish for more English text, the free audio guide is a valuable asset. The adjacent Tsuboya Yachimun Street offers a delightful shopping experience for authentic Okinawan ceramics.

"Interesting and relaxing museum at the Heiwa dori entrance to the Tsuboya pottery street. Great place to visit when it's rainy outside. You can enjoy learning about the evolution of Yachimun (Ryukyuan pottery). There are 3 floors where the top floor is a temporary exhibition (included in 350円 price). There is also an outside space where you can see an old kiln.

There are many places to sit, props you can touch, and videos to watch (with English subs). There is a free audio guide in many languages, but I wish there were more written descriptions or a detailed pamphlet in English."

"Cool pottery museum. They have an audio play-through that comes included with the ticket price, you just have to ask them for it and fill out a slip. They have a lot of different things to look around at, the walk through with the tape only takes 30-40 minutes. They have a street right outside the museum that have a lot of pottery shops if you wanna buy something."

Mike T

"Great way to learn history of pottery and how to make different kinds of pottery in the Okinawa region. Low entrance fee and there's free audioguide for phone or u can borrow a pad."
