"A museum showing the family history and influence in the area during edo period. Supposed i have been spoiled by other museums i have been to in the Nakasendo and given a personal tour by the staff or even the family member... this place is relatively overpriced and underwhelming"
Luke L'sk
"The former main inn of Magome and birthplace of the famous author Toson Shimazako to who it is now a museum. The exhibits are spread over 3 buildings and have some English descriptions. There is also a small room showing a video about his life with English subtitles. Although the translation isn’t very good it’s still easy to understand and informative. Including the video it took just over and hour to see everything and it was thoroughly enjoyable."
Ali Low
"Very little of the old building remains. The displays are only for people interested in the poet Tonson, largely library displays. Very little of old Magome or artefacts."
