Great place to see the bears in Hokkaido. You can feed them some snacks as well as see events throughout the day. You will need to take the Gondola cable car up which is included in the price. About 7 mins ride up. 3000 yen for adults and 1500 yen for kids in elementary school.
You need about 2-3 hours but nothing more, unless you want to keep watching the bears.
There is a bear museum to look at although many of the sign are not in English. All the events held there are only spoken in Japanese as well.
There is Ainu village you can also look at at the top past the bear museum. None of the signs are in English except for some signs about taking off shoes.
