What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Osaka Castle's impressive architecture and historical significance, with many enjoying the panoramic views from the top. The surrounding park is also a highlight, offering a pleasant escape. Some find the interior museum a bit modern for a traditional castle experience, and long queues can be a deterrent.
"This is a very nice historical site to visit while in Osaka. The grounds are extremely historic and the castle itself is beautiful. However the entry fee into the castle itself is not worth the entry fee. Partly because you the castle is practically empty and you don't see much inside. The observation deck is nice to see but again due to the outside railings you cannot get good photographs or videos. You can get very nice photos of the castle itself on the grounds without paying entry. The entry is 1200 Yen per person. I would recommend you buy online as you you do not have to que with online tickets. It does get busy very quickly. I would recommend you bring water there yourself as they overcharge for water on site and near by. You only need to pay entry directly at the castle entrance itself there by you can explore the grounds and surrounding areas for no entry fee. As the castle is quite big the best photographs are taken from the grounds and not inside the castle grounds itself."

"Osaka Castle is stunning. The outside is really impressive, with the huge moat and the detailed architecture. The inside is a modern museum with a lot of interesting exhibits about the castle's history. The view from the top floor is great, but the real highlight is just walking around the beautiful grounds. It's a great place to spend a few hours and learn about Japanese history."

"Beautiful building. I walked up eight stories to the observation deck to enjoy the view. An elevator goes to the fifth floor. This place is so popular with Japanese and foreign visitors that the huge crowds make the visit much less enjoyable."
