Reviews Summary
Yukichichibu Onsen is praised for its unique mineral mud bath and sulfuric waters that leave skin feeling smooth. Visitors appreciate the natural setting and the range of outdoor baths. However, the strict 'no tattoos' policy is a significant drawback for some, and the sulfur smell can be intense for sensitive individuals.
"Fantastic small onsen with a range of baths at different temperatures.
The onsen has a restaurant, gift.shop, tatami mat relaxation area as well as the bath house. The bath house is in the basement and can be reached by elevator.
The bath house consists of the changing room, the indoor bath and washing area and the outdoor baths. There are 3 different outdoor baths, all at slightly different temperatures. The hottest is the bed bath and is a great finish to a soak.
Well worth the ¥700 entrance fee. No tattoos."

"This was the first onsen I ever went to when I first moved to Japan, I think it's very unique and have been going on and off for years. Recently I came back and saw there's signs everywhere saying 'no tattoos'. I'm not for sure what has changed but now I can no longer use the onsen. It's a shame because I did like the mud bath and outdoor bath area."

"Really cool local onsen. This was a recommendation from a Japanese ski guide. Great to see the local culture and such a restorative experience. Definitely a sulfur smell - but part of the experience! Photo is of the hot spring just outside the onsen."
