"I visited Karasawayama Castle, No. 114 of the 100 Great Castles of Japan.
Although it is a mountain castle with its main keep located quite high up, it's only about a 10-minute walk from the parking lot in front of the rest house.
It's now a shrine dedicated to Fujiwara no Hidesato, and the 100 Great Castles stamp is available in the shrine office. They also sell castle seals.
The view of the Kanto Plain from there was spectacular, and we could even see Tokyo Skytree.
We returned to the rest house and headed to Tengu Rock. From here, it was a great photo spot with a panoramic view of Mt. Fuji and the mountains of Nagano and Gunma prefectures.
We were greeted by many cats along the way. They seemed quite used to people, so we were able to pet them."

From the parking lot, you can walk up the stairs and slopes to the top of the mountain where the shrine and castle ruins appear. The view from the top is quite spectacular.
