Hi all! I’m coming to Tokyo in April 2026 and would love to see Mary Poppins at Tokyu Theatre Orb while I’m there. I’m just a bit confused about how you book tickets when you’re not in Japan. From my understanding, you either book from the ticket counter or over the phone, both…

Tickets for Concert at Theatre Orb
Hi! I've been thinking of seeing the New Year's Musical Concert at Theatre Orb in Tokyo this year but I'm kind of overwhelmed trying to get a hold of tickets. Is there any way to purchase them online? Or do I have to make a phone call? Is it even possible to get them if you're…
Broadway shows in Tokyo?
As others have mentioned, Theater Orb is the place you should check out (top of Hikarie in Shibuya). I think because of Covid, recent scheduling has Japanese performances, but in the past it was very heavy with English shows with US groups. Hopefully it will start up again.
🚰 No Food/Drinks Inside
Enjoy your snacks from Lawson in the lobby area; outside food and drinks are not permitted in the auditorium.
💺 Consider Seat Spacing
Some visitors find seats a bit close together; be prepared for potential shoulder contact.
Theatre in Japan
Edit: I should mention, I'm just talking about things in Japanese... I haven't seen anything in English here except for one touring production... sorry if that wasn't clear... I'm a theatre lover from New York, and I have a lot of experience going to Broadway and…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Tokyu Theatre Orb for its excellent sound quality, convenient direct access from Shibuya Station, and the stunning free views of Shibuya Crossing. While the theatre is clean and well-organized, some find the seats to be a bit smaller and closer together than expected. Crowd management after shows is generally efficient.
"Seats are smaller than other theaters, but the place is clean, organized, and has a great sound system. There is a direct passage from Shibuya train station to the building where the theater is at. There is no need to go out, cross the street, and go up again.Has high end mall next door. There is Lawson on the same floor as the theater so you can grab a bite and there is a nearby lobby to sit, eat and relax before watching any show"

"B5 exit of Shibuya station. The direct elevators are in a lobby on the right side. The doors are frosted so it's easy to miss. Go to the 11th floor. There's a Lawson and restaurant, it can be used without a ticket. No food and drinks inside the theater.
I sat on the first floor. The sound quality is excellent and it's easy to see the stage. But it was a good to bring binoculars.
Maybe it's the coronavirus situation but I felt the seats were too close together. I was bumped by the shoulder of the person sitting beside me several times. Compared to the movie theater seating, it seemed these seats are closer together.
I was satisfied with how they handled the crowd after the show. There was a line at the elevator but it was managed well."

"You can watch the Shibuya crossing. It’s free. I only don’t recommend to go around 5 pm when the sun is still strong and is shining directly at you, so you don’t see the crossing that well."
