Reviews Summary

Visitors find the LOVE sculpture a visually striking and photogenic pop art piece, perfect for a quick photo op in Shinjuku. While iconic, it's generally considered a brief stop rather than a primary destination, and some find it a bit challenging to locate. Reddit+1

"The “LOVE” sculpture by Robert Indiana in front of Shinjuku i-Land Tower is a fun little stop if you happen to be nearby. It’s a striking pop art piece — the bold letters “LO” stacked over “VE,” with the tilted “O” — iconic and photogenic.

Robert Indiana first created the LOVE design in the 1960s; it was originally a card design, later reproduced as many sculptures around the world, including this one in Tokyo.

Great for a quick photo op, especially with its bright colors and graphic style against the modern backdrop of the I-Land Tower.

That said, it’s probably not worth going out of your way just to see it—unless you’re a big fan of pop art. If you’re already exploring Shinjuku or doing some walking in the area, then it adds a nice visual stop."

"This was my pick up point while traveling to Disneyland. It’s a bit of a walk from the station and was slightly difficult to locate. But the sculpture itself is beautiful. And it was crowded with people taking photos in front of it even at like 7 in the morning!"

"My friend and I stopped here around 10pm and there wasn’t a line for a photo. The one in Philly is more photo-friendly but this one is still neat to see! People's complaints about the distance from the street and lack of seating are valid though.
