Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Toro Museum for its affordable entry and engaging interactive exhibits that bring the Yayoi period to life. The outdoor reconstructions and the stunning Mount Fuji views are consistently highlighted as major attractions, making it a surprisingly enjoyable experience for all ages. Some note it's a smaller, local museum, but its historical value and hands-on activities make it a worthwhile visit.

"Fascinating look at Yayoi era life with reconstructed houses and granaries, even paddy fields. Museum has original and replica tools, utensils, wooden buildings and pottery."

Richard Jeffery

"A small local museum. The ground floor has free admission."

"I've had an amazing visit in the Toro museum. Personally I really like history and archaeology, yet there are not much ancient archaeological sites in Japan. I was really enjoying this one, learning about the place through the ruins and its interactive museum. Shizuaka is one of my favourite places in Japan thanks to the Toro area and of course the amazing view of mount Fuji from there. The museum's staff were really nice and willing to teach even with the lack.of english and I had a great time with them. They even offered me to go to the museum's roof and watch the beautiful view of the Fuji. I really recommend to anyone travelling shizuaka or its area the hop over there. Also recommended to all ages."
