The Iwate Light Railway (now the JR Kamaishi Line) opened as a narrow-gauge railway between Hanamaki and Sennin Pass in November 1915 and later became the property of the Ministry of Railways. The Tatsusobe River Bridge (Iwane Bridge) and the Miyagawa River Bridge (Megane Bridge), renovated in 1943, evoke the scenery of Morihara and Kenji Miyazawa's fairy tale "Night on the Galactic Railroad" and are beloved as iconic landmarks of Tono City.

The night before, I spent the night in my car at the Towa Roadside Station.
The next morning, I got up early and visited the Miyamorigawa Bridge (also known as the Megane Bridge) in Miyamoricho, about a 15-minute drive away.
It is part of the old Iwate Light Railway iron bridge, with five beautiful arches, and in front of the bridge, the brick pillars of the Iwate Light Railway, built in the Taisho era, remain.
Under the slightly cloudy sky, the nostalgic scenery created by the Megane Bridge was very beautiful."
