"NARO's research facilities are rapidly aging. The site is too large and difficult to maintain. This makes it difficult to conduct research that is ahead of the private sector. So what if we consolidated the staff and site space by one-third, and used half of the saved costs to build new research facilities and the other half to settle accounts? We would eliminate overlapping themes and choose what to keep. What if the surplus land was managed by a third-sector organization and turned into large-scale farms to ensure a stable supply of agricultural products and produce bioenergy? We would like to see the organization self-purify, improve its research environment, and make use of its vast land."
