"Peaceful and beautiful temple. It was warm and quiet, with hardly any tourists around which made the experience even more special. The atmosphere felt so calm and Zen, and the garden was absolutely stunning. A true hidden gem. 🌿"

"Beautiful temple and has a nice 'tunnel' lined trees leading to it. We went during the winter and it still has autumn leaves which looks amazing."

"A beautiful Buddhist temple located up a picturesque hill in the north side of Uji river. It is walking distance from Byodoin temple yet it does not get the maddening crowd. So one can have a pleasurable time enjoying the well tended garden inside. A few couples and ladies in kimono were having their photography shoots when we were there.
This temple is still in practice and one has to pay an entry fees to check out the interior sanctuary. We were lucky to witness a family clan having a formal tea ceremony ritual, with the tea service delivered to the patriarch first, the matriarch next, then the rest in 3-4s at a time. Very interesting!"
