What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Doi Pearl Farm for its educational and hands-on pearl cultivation experience, where they can extract their own pearl and create jewelry. The exceptional, warm hospitality of the family-run business is a standout feature, making many feel like welcomed guests. While the location is a bit remote, the unique experience and personal touch make it a highly recommended destination.
"Had an amazing educational experience at this pearl farm. We learnt (through live demonstrations) how a nucleus is implanted into an oyster to produce a pearl, got to keep a pearl from an oyster we picked out as a souvenir, tried a piece of fresh oyster, and then had our pearl made into a piece of jewellery. You can also shop for pearl jewellery there at great prices. Must-go for anyone interested in pearls and pearl cultivation! Booked the experience through Voyagin."

"My wife and I made an impromptu visit to Doi Pearl and were so warmly greeted by Kazunori and his lovely wife. They opened their shop and told us the fascinating history of their farm and told us all about pearls. We are very grateful for their kindness and the time they spent with us. Arigato."

"We didn't know much about pearls, but professionals taught us a lot of things. It's an experience that can be done just because Uwajima city is a farming pearls area. I took out my own pearls myself and I used it to make an accessory with wonderful memories.
It's run by a family.
