"I visited on October 1st. The leaves were not yet fully colored, but compared to other ponds, the autumn foliage was still quite impressive.
There is a parking lot a little way down the national highway, and from there, you can walk along the footpath to the pond. The footpath splits into two, and if you go about 250m to the right you will reach Pond Biwa, and if you go left you will reach the lakeside of Ichinotuma. The sedge that grew luxuriantly in the summer has thinned, and a quiet autumn landscape unfolds. The rowan trees did not seem to have colored very well this year, and brown leaves were noticeable around Yokoteyama, but many red trees remained in Ichinotuma. Once the birch trees start to color, the autumn foliage will likely be even more beautiful."
