While the complex itself is a modern hub, the preserved historic crane adds a unique touch. Some find it can be windy by the sea, especially in cooler months.
"I think this is the boarding terminal for some of the cruise lines available here in Yokohama. The terminal has a bunch of shops and food court attached. Many nice picture opportunities!!"

"I love this place especially around sunset. There’s a couple of nice restaurants with terrace seats so if you are dressed warm enough (it is windy because it’s right by the sea although they have heaters set up, you need layers in winter), highly recommended for dates and nice dinner with friends/coworkers. I’ve seen it’s a popular place for weddings (or after parties)."

"The Hammerhead is by the Yokohama harbour. Originally , the Hammerhead is the big crane which was installation at the Shinko Pier in 1914. It has become a landmark at Yokohama.....Now , the "Hammerhead " has been developed into a new area, with a park, a pier & cruise terminal , a shopping mall with shops & restaurants and a hotel . I took the sightseeing tour bus and walked around. A nice place that you can enjoy good food and the sea view . You can also buy bus and boats tickets here in the shopping mall ."
