"This view of the Matsushima bay from this lookout is breathtaking. You can walk around 10 mins to there from the Matsushima station. Just follow the tsunami evacuation route (blue arrows on the ground) and after the evacuation parking lot, there are a couple more parking spots and you will see a narrow gravel street turning uphill. The place has a shelter and quite breezy up there!"

"I guess not many people know this place as it's devoid of tourists when I visited. You'd have to climb a little bit through the slope to get here, but the view from above makes it worth the while. The observation deck is made of steel and frankly speaking I feel it a bit scary as it's a bit inclined.
One interesting bit is that there's a monument about poem from a British poet about Matsushima.
Side note: sunrise would be cool from this place."
