"Amazing conservation work.Great learning experience for both adults and children about sea turtles and how plastic should be reused to reduce their pollution on the ocean and land. This team works hard to protect these animals at the hospital and also educate people. Good job. 👍"

"As a Ugandan passionate about biodiversity conservation and reptiles in general, visiting Local Ocean Conservation was one of my to do list and i am quiet satisfied with the work they do in conserving the sea turtles. They not only protect their nests, they also create awareness and have an established nursery bed for mangroves yet all is supported by donations of 1000Ksh done by visiting guests.

I shall definitely visit once again!"

Ismail Hassan

"Local Ocean is an incredible conservation group in coastal Kenya. I led a group of students in a volunteer project based out of, and in collaboration with, LOC and it was one of the most impactful experiences of our semester.

The learning here is engaging, profound and interactive -- The team is so smart, welcoming and supportive -- And everyone we had the pleasure of meeting shared their passion with us, and it was infectious.

LOC works with dexterity, creativity and soul. I hope to be able to partner with them again in the future, and I would highly encourage anyone visiting Watamu to pay them a visit."
