I’m visiting this week and it looks like it’s going to be 27 and 29C at the end of the week. Are there nice places to go swimming in town or in the river? Does everyone head to Jūrmala? Or does everyone just hide indoors? Thanks! UPDATE: we went to Jurmala. Had a great time.…

"Wow it's so much better since I was a kid. Very well equipped. Like a proper proper beach now! They have toilet , changing facilities, police watch. Half way through there is a big bird watch house. "Daugavgrīvas beach was completely visible with such a long seashore and end. The cold breeze and Baltic ocean lapped at the soft white sand. The sand was clean, and it encouraged me to explore. There were no street lamps to the beach from the car park. Follow the map beside the car park, and it'll make it easy to reach the beach easily. Walking to the destination, several paths lead you to different sections of the long seashore. The woods surrounding dunes right up to their very edge along the beach added to the attractiveness of the surroundings.
Good public transport connection with Riga and it takes around 30-minute ride"
