"I booked an 18-hole round at Genting Awana Golf Resort with a 230pm tee time. by 4pm, there was thunder, lightning, and rain, I think we were only at 7th hole. For safety reasons, I requested to stop after the 9th hole and asked management (through the caddy) if a partial refund or rain check could be issued. They refused.
Initially only wanted to book for 9 holes however I was encouraged to book 18 holes because apparently I can finish my 18 rounds by 7pm, excuse me, by 530pm it was already so dark! Can't even see! Shouldn't have listened to the PIC
What’s most disappointing is not the weather, which is beyond anyone’s control, but the lack of flexibility and concern for player safety. No rain check no nothing, lightning in the highlands is dangerous, yet the management’s only response was to decline any compensation. Many other golf clubs provide rain checks or at least some goodwill gesture when play becomes unsafe.
This experience leaves me with the impression that customer care and safety are not a priority here.

"Was here by chance. Had low expectations as have heard from friends to avoid due to the highlands and turf is soggy such that most balls will be pluck even played on fairway. Myth debunked.
How wrong they were. The course condition is pretty decent. Well maintained and the course layout does provide challenge even for the mid handicapper. As it is nested on the mountain, the fairways are narrow. The green speed is slow (8-8.5).
Currently course is under going some works and you can only play 9 holes x2.
The reception is friendly. The golfing staff are also very polite. My caddy is v knowledgeable and speaks some English. The downside is there is no pro shop so no equipment for rent either.
Had lunch at the lodge.
Highly recommended to play if you are here."
