"Went there both as a tourist and for prayer.
The mosque itself is nice. Wonderful interior and strategically located if you are a tourist visiting the landmarks nearby.
However, my personal experience was a bit bitter. As a muslim I walked in directly into the mosque. I had my camera in hand. Walked straight upstairs sat down and was taking photos of the dome. I was absolutely careful to not be a nuisance. i think I took 3 photos and then the security guard who saw me enter the mosque with the camera, arrived after a while and literally started shouting. He said you need permission and you did not ask for permission, this is not the law. I did not notice any such signs at all. His shouting was so embarrassing, I was feeling the mosque was being disrespected and just said I did not know/ see the rules. Sorry and Got out. Did not complete prayer there. I did see other non muslim tourists being led on tours in the same area as I was walking out."
