"Among the available jetties if you want to have some mirror photos taken. Beside the jetty you will come across a newly opened little shop called Bagan Green Station which is family operated selling a variety of frozen seafood, prawn crackers and various local snacks.
Best of all, you get to quench your thirst on a hot sunny day as refrigerated fresh coconuts are available. For those who want some cool beers, there you are. You came to the right station!! And you will get to meet the friendly, courteous and helpful proprietors too.
Give it a try."

In-depth insights and expert knowledge
Understanding the Sky Mirror Phenomenon
To witness this spectacle, visitors must book a tour with a local operator. These tours depart from jetties in Kuala Selangor and take you to the sandbar. The experience is often enhanced by the opportunity to take stunning, surreal photographs using the reflective surface. Many tours also include other activities like eagle feeding, where you can watch eagles dive for food, and sometimes, if timed correctly, the chance to see the 'Blue Tears' – bioluminescent plankton that glow in the dark water.
It's crucial to understand that the Sky Mirror is not a permanent island but a temporary sandbank. The timing of your visit is paramount. Checking the official tide tables for Sasaran Beach is the most important step in planning your trip. Missing the low tide window means the sandbar will be submerged, and the mirror effect will not be visible.
Capturing the Magic: Photography Tips
Many tour operators understand the importance of photography and often provide props such as umbrellas, hats, and even costumes to add flair to your photos. Don't be afraid to experiment with different poses – jumping, dancing, or simply standing still can yield incredible results. Wide-angle lenses are excellent for capturing the vastness of the sky and its reflection. Consider shooting during the golden hours – early morning or late afternoon – for softer light and more dramatic skies.
Remember to protect your camera or phone from the water and sand. Many visitors find that even on less sunny days, the reflections are still impressive. The goal is to embrace the surreal environment and have fun creating unique memories.
Beyond the Mirror: Other Attractions
Depending on the tour package and season, you might also have the chance to witness the 'Blue Tears' phenomenon. This natural wonder occurs when bioluminescent plankton in the water light up, creating a magical blue glow, especially visible at night. It's a truly enchanting sight that adds another layer of wonder to the coastal experience.
Furthermore, many tours include visits to local points of interest such as fisherman villages, where you can get a glimpse of local life, or the Egret Bird Park, a sanctuary for various bird species. Some packages also conclude with a delicious seafood dinner in Kuala Selangor, renowned for its fresh catches.
