"Mother's Day jaunt to this mangrove forest for a spot of nostalgic birdwatching and clock up some steps. If you want to see bigger animals, make sure you're in the park early. You might just spot the otter family that lives here. To be here early, why not book and stay in the lovely chalets here. Uncle and Aunty wanted a nice, casual jalan-jalan, and we saw various birds - egrets, herons, kingfishers, monitor lizards, and macaques. We also saw a corporate group doing mangrove planting with Malaysian Nature Society (which runs the park). This place is popular for such activities because it's an easy 45 min drive from Petaling Jaya. Meandering the park, you'll easily get 3-4km worth of walking on flat, level ground. There's a small entry fee which goes towars the park upkeep. If you're game for more wildlife spotting - leave your wheels at the car park and walk up the nearby Melawati Hill. There are Langurs and more Macaques up there. Not touristy enough? You're also near the Sky Mirror Jetty. This is a very "efficient" destination since you get to enjoy nature, history and touristy fun all in one! Excellent lunch places nearby after you've worked up an appetite from all the walking."
