What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Gunung Mat Cincang offers two distinct experiences: a challenging, rewarding hike with stunning natural beauty and the accessible, breathtaking views from the Langkawi SkyCab and SkyBridge. While the hike is praised for its adventure and solitude, it's noted as being very strenuous and potentially dangerous in wet conditions. The SkyCab is lauded for its incredible vistas and iconic bridge, though it comes at a higher cost and can be crowded.
"Beginners be warned!! It took us 7.5h to get from the bottom of the seven wells waterfalls, up the peak and back down again. If you don’t sprain your ankle coming down like me, maybe 6.5h?
The terrain is a marvel but no joke - super steep uphill, huge sharp rocks up top, slippery bits in the mid, super hot the whole way (bring more water!) and of course, the stunning blue lagoon.
The trail is well maintained with ropes leading the way up top, which was great! Kudos to the kedah forestry dept!
TLDR; We almost died but it was memorable and lots of fun in the end 🤣"

"One of the best places to hike! The last. Km you do 400 Mt!!! And so it became more climbing than hiking! Funny, stunning views and almost no people. You can start from the entrance of the first waterfall or you can start from the base, if you have AllTrails app you can find it.
The best part is from the waterfall, go and see it! Also, do a little stop at the blue pool, it's really worthy."

"A lovely hike to summit 701. You can safely do it without a guide, but there are a lot of signs that advise you to take one (we didn’t do it). If you have a gps and some basic scrambling skills you should be fine. There are ropes along the whole route, also on the steep parts. It’s advised to do this in dry weather, otherwise the path becomes a mud slide. Entrance fee is 2 euros so not a lot. We did the whole tour in 5 hours, including swimming (1 hour) in the pools"
