Reviews Summary
Sungai Udang Recreational Forest offers a challenging hiking experience with notable elevation changes, appealing to fitness enthusiasts. However, visitors frequently point out significant issues with park maintenance, including slippery trails, overgrown areas, and poorly kept facilities, which detract from the overall enjoyment and safety.
"Was looking for a place to do hiking/walk.. found this Hutan Rekreasi Sg Udang.. my first visit. Honest opinion.. I was expecting more, it’s quite easy to reach, sufficient available parking place (not for big crowd) and there’s a restaurant next to the parking area.
The walking path can fit 2-3, tar road going circle around the pond filled overgrown and tall grass. Also certain parts of the path are covered with moss growth, making it slippery when stepped..this is especially dangerous when you are ascending/descending the slopes.
There’s a new toilets built but dirty and filthy ..I guess missing resources to upkeep the park and surrounding.
Spent ard 1.5hrs walking uphill.. we decided to stop when facing a steeper path covered with moss growth.. thought its gonna risky and help seems not nearby.
The only awesome for me are the fungi growth.. a few spots with good fungi species..
Verdict: not planning to return unless a major improvement."

"Happened to be nearby for an event. Hop over for mushroom foray. Poor maintenance of the park. Slippery concrete path way. Overgrown pond. A new toilet is available now."

"It is a good track with up and down elevation.
If you are alone, do not come before 7.30am and please leave it before 5.30pm. It was a bit darker and I really didn't suggest it if you are alone. Except you are in group is OK.
Good view and environment.
Enough parking space and lot.
Nearby Food store and also can park there. It is open about 7am - noon about 2-3pm.
U could have breakfast and lunch accordingly.
Opposite side the road is Taman Tanah Merah- one of the of Taman at Sungai Udang area.
*I will share a photo later. Couldnt find it now 👉👈

3. No water at the surau inside there and also no Toilet.
4. Many chairs and table for relax and rest aged and look dirty.
5. I will conclude there is no proper management to manage this Hutan Rekreasi even there are peoples came esp on the.weekend for jogging etc.
