What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Smokehouse Hotel's enchanting gardens and timeless English charm, offering a peaceful escape. While the ambiance and heritage are highly praised, some guests find the food and service to be overpriced and inconsistent, impacting the overall dining experience.
"Went there to have their breakfast on a weekday. No need reservations but start at 9.30am. They respond to my question fast via WhatsApp. You have to get one of the breakfast set. But the ambiance and the food is sooooooo English. It's so pretty. Food was good. Not much of a breakfast spread but it's good. Your main dish will be the breakfast set you order."

"The place and view is exquisite. That's it.
The food is overpriced and they told us we're required to make 4 orders as we have 4 adults. I was denied making my order first when some of our party aren't at the table as the waiter said he cannot proceed without at least 4 orders.
We ordered the Devonshire scones tea set and a cookie tea set.
The scones are average and served room temperature. They served us cold butter but the jam and cream is delicious.
The cookies are not worth the price as they're too dry.
The service was bad too. We were watched by several employees when we entered but they disappeared off to a corner table after we made our order.
When served, the waiter haphazardly placed our food and left. I had to find a waiter for the bill but he told us to pay at the counter. Normally I wouldn't mind but with such a price I expected better.
The place is clean and everything is decorated beautifully but the service leave much to be desired.
Nevertheless, the nicest employees are the gardeners who welcomed and bid us goodbye."

"Beautiful environment with an old, rustic European charm. The breakfast was decent and overall no complaints. Initially, we were told it’s for hotel guests only, but the lady at reception kindly accommodated us — everything went smoothly after that."
