What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Għajn Tuffieħa Bay is praised for its stunning natural beauty, soft sand, and clear waters, offering excellent snorkeling and breathtaking sunset views. However, some visitors note issues with litter and limited facilities like foot-rinsing stations and showers, which can detract from the experience during peak times.
"The beach left a very pleasant impression — the sand is incredibly soft and fine, making it comfortable to walk barefoot even during the hottest hours of the day. The water is crystal clear and pleasantly warm, with a gentle slope into the sea, which makes it suitable for both adults and children. Overall, the atmosphere is rather calm, although it can get crowded during peak hours.
Unfortunately, there are some downsides. The beach doesn’t seem to be cleaned as often as it should be, and bits of litter can be found in the sand, especially closer to the rocky areas. This takes away from the beauty of the place, because the natural setting itself is truly stunning.
One of the biggest highlights is the snorkeling. Near the rocks you can see a wide variety of colorful fish, and it is fascinating to watch them up close. We were even lucky enough to spot a small stingray, which made the experience unforgettable.
Sunbeds are available for rent at a reasonable price — €25 for a set of two loungers and an umbrella. At the entrance, there is a restaurant with free toilets, which is very convenient. However, some basic facilities are missing: there is no place to rinse the sand off your feet, and only one paid shower, which is definitely not enough for a beach of this size.
Despite these shortcomings, our overall impression was very positive. Compared to Golden Bay, this beach felt much nicer — the water seemed cleaner, the atmosphere was more relaxing, and the snorkeling opportunities were simply excellent. With a bit more attention to cleanliness and infrastructure, this place could easily become one of the best beaches in the area."

"Beautiful place, definitely worth visiting for the sunset. You can walk to the top of the hill in about 10–15 minutes, and the view from there is absolutely amazing."

"Beautiful beach with clear water and stunning views, perfect for swimming and relaxing. However, there isn’t much around in terms of facilities or food options, so it’s good to bring what you need with you. Still, definitely worth a visit if you want a calm day by the sea."
