Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the Barrakka Lift's convenience and stunning views, calling it a 'lifesaver' for connecting the harbor to Valletta's heights. The €1 fare is considered fantastic value, though queues can be long, especially when cruise ships are in port.

"This lift is so amazing and the views not only from the lift but the connecting gardens are breathtaking. We were at the harbour area and were debating how to get up the main city in quite intense heat, when we spotted this amazing place on google maps. One euro per trip - fantastic!

If you arrive in the harbour area you will find this really useful."

Al Batson

"A great way to reach the Grand Harbour from Valletta or bus station! The lift costs 1 euro per person and definitely saves you a lot of time and walking. Almost no waiting, windows for the view as well. Quite an experience on its own. Definitely recommend, especially to ride down!"

Jędrzej Rakoczy

"Easy way up and down, there are two elevators. One euro round trip and it will take you up to upper barrakka gardens and the saluting battery. Credit cards are accepted if you don’t have euros. If you’re coming in from a cruise ship, it’s to the right after you get off the ship facing land, about 8-10 minutes walking to get to it. I only took it down to get back to the ship, took an Uber straight from the port to Mdina to avoid any queues to get up and beat the traffic to Mdina."
