What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Grandmaster's Palace for its rich historical significance and the impressive armory collection. Many highlight the educational value and the detailed exhibits. However, some note that not all rooms are open, and the 'garden' is more of a courtyard. A few reviewers mentioned that staff could be friendlier, and the lack of air conditioning in some areas can be a drawback during warmer months.
"This is one of those places you should visit. You will learn a lot about Malta’s history. There are so many swords in there. And guns. But mostly swords. There is also a possessed wax figure of a Maltese soldier. Who is obviously holding a sword.
The “garden” is not a garden. It’s a yard with one tree and a statue. Well, 2 statues, if you count the security guard.
We learned a lot and also bought a thing or two from the souvenir shop at the exit."
Paris Sophocleous
"Really impressive collection of armoury from the knights and they were really good at putting up signs so you know exactly what you were looking at. Really richly decorated rooms and lots of interesting history about the Maltese Knights and the wars they were a part of. They also had some old printing machines that was my favourite part!"
Helene Kristensen
"This is well worth a visit! You could easily spend a couple of hours in here. There’s a security checkpoint to go through straight away. And they don’t allow drinks inside but they keep them at the gate for you and give you a ticket to collect on the way out. There is so much history and beauty in here. It was fascinating."
