Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Museum of History and Ethnography to be an affordable (€4 entry) and interesting, albeit small, museum offering insights into colonial Martinique and the wider Caribbean. While some appreciate the historical displays, others note the limited exhibits and the primary use of French for information. Payment is strictly cash-only.

"Great museum with history on every Caribbean island as well as several displays of old, colonial Martinique. Really nice. €4 entry."

Bjørn

"It is really evitable. Just two stories, filled with mannequins and (not that old) jewels. I stayed for like 7 minutes because there is absolutely nothing interesting in there. Some paintings, some old plates, some old chairs. Do something else trust me. Only positive thing is the price, only 4 euros."

Marco Z

"Very interesting museum. I learned a lot about the history of Martinique. Nice collection of artefacts. Only minor point is that I was not allowed to take photos. In combination with the lack of a published museum guide or catalogue that leaves me with only my memory of the visit. I would have loved a catalogue of the paintings in the first part of the exhibition and a book about the painters of Martinique."
