Visitors rave about Zona Arqueológica Tenam Puente for its serene atmosphere and impressive Maya architecture, often having the site almost to themselves. The overgrown ruins and the opportunity to explore freely contribute to a feeling of genuine discovery and adventure, making it a standout archaeological experience.

"Colectivo (shared shuttle) available from Comitàn until maybe 4/5pm: 17$ only one-way!
Very lovely archaelogical site (entrance 75$) with a few well-preserved temples and pelota fields, less the crowds of more famous Mayan ruins.
Warning: SO MANY mosquitoes by the main temple! Take a repellent if you wanna take pics in peace!"

"Forget Teotihuacan or Monte Alban, this is my new favourite archaeological site. Absolutely mind blowing to wander around here all by yourself. Gives you a true feeling of exploration and adventure."

Phil

"I really enjoyed my visit to Tenam Puente. Seeing the Mayan architecture was awesome. The site has a diversity in its remaining structures giving you a great example of a number of different things from pyramids, to ball courts, to a multiroomed structure. The site is laid out for any easy walking tour and was virtually empty. We had the place to ourselves for half our time and one other couple came through as we were heading out. Easy walk to get too, fair amount of steps in the structures themselves (tall and narrow steps). Parking lot and visitor center have bathrooms and a picnic area."
