Reviews Summary

Parque de los Fuertes is a large, historic park offering great city views and recreational opportunities. Visitors appreciate the green spaces, running/cycling paths, and the unique experience of the historic tunnels. However, some find parts of the park boring, note the high prices at kiosks, and lament the closure of attractions like the cable car.

"A great park to spend the day with the family. Also great for running and easy going cycling. You can also use the cable cart. Perfect for picnic. Also great view of Puebla city. I guess they could have more boutique coffee places. Plenty parkin."

Jose Javier Marsal Gil

"Quite a boring park to walk and has some huge, very ugly concrete sculptures but has a great cycle track and a path for running. Both seemingly not used much during the week. The cable car is closed permanently according to workers in the park. The planetarium is MXN80 per person and has a performance at 4.30pm each day (ticket offolice opens.4pm) reviews arent great so we skipped it. There are some overpiced kiosks near the planetarium for drinks and snacks. At the lower part of the park there is a man made lake where you can see geese, ducks and great tailed grackles. Locals feed them with cat biscuits for some reason which attracts the odd huge rat which adds excitement 😄. Its worth walking the tunnels from 5 de Mayo which exit at the duck/geese lake. The tunnels are not particualrly interesting but only MXN30 per person and a pleasant, cooler walk than the busy streets."

Darren Nicholls

"Huge sprawling park with playareas, a pond, plenty of parking and several other attractions. One can choose to walk around or take the car and move around inside, parking at the various spots, it is free. Due to the pandemic, the teleferico wasnt operational, entry into the forts was not permitted, the coffee shop overlooking the lake was closed, the planetarium was closed, the natural history museum had limited timed entry, 10 people every hour. The small eatery close to the Guadalupe fort was open. Great views from around the fort down over Puebla city. Pleasant to walk around in the forenoon before it gets too hot."
