What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Hacienda Soltepec is praised for its beautiful historical property, comfortable bungalows, and excellent service, particularly from staff like Diego. Guests enjoy the tranquil atmosphere, golf course views, and the weekend regional breakfast buffet. However, some rooms could benefit from updates, and occasional issues with water temperature and toiletries have been noted.
"Beautiful historical property offering bungalows to rent. The beds are some of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. The showers are hot and the property is surrounded by a golf course with beautiful views.
There’s a coffee shop on the premises as well as a restaurant serving local breakfast with blue tortillas.
Just outside the main building there’s an artisanal market open Saturday and Sunday 10am to 5pm offering Mezcal with scorpion, local crafts and produce. They have a great selection of insects to try and tasty cheeses."

"We recently stayed at Hacienda Soltepec in Huamantla (in the bungalows) and overall had a decent experience. The property itself is ok, however, there were some noticeable downsides. Unfortunately, we had issues with the water — the shower only provided cold water, and the water tap was defective, which was a bit disappointing for the price range of the stay. Additionally, the complimentary toiletries, like the shampoo, seemed quite old and not refreshed, which detracted from the overall comfort.
In summary, Hacienda Soltepec has a lot of character and potential, but some basic maintenance and attention to guest amenities would really enhance the experience."
