Reviews Summary
Visitors are captivated by the stunning, vibrant turquoise and jade colors of Lago Pojoj, describing it as an incredible and beautiful natural landscape. The unique experience of rafting to Isla de las Orquídeas is a highlight. However, some find the prices for raft and kayak rentals to be extortionate, and the strict, mandatory life jacket policy, even in shallow waters, is a point of contention for some.
"The Deep Blue Color of this lake is incredible!. 200 Mts Deep BTW so, if you take the wooden canoe trip you will need a life jacket even if you know how to swim. Once you arrive to the Island they will give you some time to swim but always wearing your life jacket at all times once again regardless of whether or not you know how to swim. Only observation I would make about the let's call it attraction is that the prices as of 2025 go from $150 to $250 + Tips which seems a little bit too much for the experience. Not only because of how short the distance is to the island & back on the canoe but also because this type of trips are made with the entire family more often than not & $1,000 Pesos for a family of 4 seems too much IMO. That being said wonderful place beautiful Landscape."

"The staff here were a bit rude and kind of ruined the experience a bit. And they didn't even let me take my own paddle board out on the lake even though I had paid the entrance fee to the lake, and caused a huge hassle for me. They wanted me to pay them hundreds of pesos just to use my OWN paddleboard! I had never heard of such a thing. The lake itself was very pretty though. It was so weird that they forced you to wear a life jacket even when you're just swimming and wading in the shallow water, which makes no sense. The staff just stood there staring at me, presumably waiting for me to do something wrong like take my life jacket off for a second so they could attempt to find me an additional 1000 pesos?"

"A stunning tiny island right in the heart of the montebello national park. Access the island by kayak for 100pesos each. Definitely worth it."
