Just left a really nice location in San Agustinillo (stayed above La Mora Posada - it's magic, do it if you can!) and now in Puerto Angel for the rest of the week - love the more local scene but the beach is definitely less our thing. Missing the fun and actually swimmable waves…

Thoughts on Oaxaca coast towns?
I’m going to Oaxaca City and then the coast for a couple weeks this winter. I’m trying to decide which town on the coast I should stay in. I stayed in PE ten years ago and had a nice time, but I’m thinking about Mazunte or Zipolite this time. My main criteria: - I’d like…

"The beach is incredibly beautiful. It is not for swimming much, but for playing in the surf and sitting while it overcomes you. There is a small cove and some rocks for views. Do be aware that, at sunset time it is not only beautiful, but gets very sexy and free."

"This is what Zipolite is all about - sun, sand, waves, and enjoying the most perfect sunset. Everyone is there to peacefully enjoy such a magical place. During the day, it’s very quiet, and just before sunset, everyone comes down to enjoy together. There are a few places with chairs that you can rent for the whole day, or buy a few drinks and sit there. The mezcalitas con maracuya are delicious. After sunset, there will be fire dancers, which is so fun to watch. One of my favorite places in the world."
