What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally find Progreso's Malecon clean with pleasant beaches suitable for families. While the scenery and atmosphere are appreciated, many note that Malecon restaurants are overpriced and offer smaller portions. The windy conditions can also be a minor drawback for dining experiences.
"Nice clean beach, not a resort area but for Mexico it was just fine, water was clean and Sand is white. Restaurants are on the high side of prices I suggest you walk around before you get hooked on the beach lunch on the sand. It's good food but Windy and everything blows away from the table it's definitely not like the movies, it was by far the most expensive meal in Merida area I had and got the least amount of food. Otherwise it was great"
Jesse Sanchez
"The water is great. Great for kids. They gave me the option of paying 300 pesos for the palapa or purchasing from them something in the menu and not pay the palapa cost. I ordered a mixed ceviche for 350, it is enough for 3 people."
Edilberto Gonzalez
"Nice to have a relaxed walk in the afternoon, lots of restaurants and bars, clean and quite easy to park nearby"
