Reviews Summary

Visitors find Kabah to be a beautiful and historically significant Maya site, often described as Uxmal's 'little brother.' Its less crowded atmosphere and the unique Puuc architectural style, especially the Codz Pop, are major draws. While the heat and uneven terrain can be challenging, the ability to climb structures and the affordable entry fee make it a rewarding experience for many.

"As part of the Ruta Puuc, we dedicated a full day to exploring Uxmal and stayed overnight at a nearby hotel. The next day, we visited three of the main sites along the Ruta Puuc, starting with Kabah. Although much smaller in scale compared to Uxmal, Kabah was absolutely beautiful, with the Puuc architectural style prominently featured throughout the site.

There are informative signs that help guide your visit, though we didn’t see any tour guides available on-site. Be prepared—it gets very hot, so bringing water, an umbrella, and comfortable shoes is a must. For those with mobility issues or elderly visitors, the ruins can be a bit challenging due to the many steps and uneven terrain. However, one of the highlights is that you can still climb parts of the structures, which makes the experience even more engaging."

Rachel Rodriguez

"The ruins of Kabah are a hidden gem in yucatan. They're not crowded with tourists, and you can get to the top of the pyramids. The entrance fee is very cheap and right at the entrance you can take a bus back to Merida or uxmal ruins. Be aware there's no signal in that area. I came to kabah by the town of Santa Elena, where one of the locals offered me on his bike a ride to kabah ruins for $50 mexican pesos. The ruins are still in very good shape, and it's a very moderate size for you to explore"

Pavel Coria

"Uxmal's little brother, quite cool in its own respect. Notably you can see an arch of a sacbé (Maya highway)."
