What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Sidi Ali Ben Hamdouch Sanctuary is recognized as a significant spiritual and traditional site, drawing visitors for its religious importance and historical architecture. While many appreciate its sacred atmosphere, some reviews mention concerns about cleanliness and the presence of individuals seeking shelter, suggesting a need for visitor preparedness and respect for the local context.
"It smelled like urine. There was a woman, who seemed homeless, with two children sitting on a rug, one baby on her lap crying and the other was a child about three years old that seemed agitated and I happen to walk past when all of a sudden the mother, without hesitation, smacks the little girl across the face so hard that her actions caught the attention of other women who went up to her. It seemed as if they were reprimanding the mother. The Mausoleum seems to be a place where the homeless go to. It was a bit filthy and smelled bad."
