"Absolutely worth it—unreal views and a perfect day out
The Chandragiri Cable Car is an amazing experience for everyone. The ride itself is smooth and offers jaw-dropping views of the Himalayas and Kathmandu Valley—like something straight out of a National Geographic spread.
If you can, plan to spend the whole day: take the cable car up, enjoy the views and temple at the top, then walk down the hill toward the hotel and follow the track to the little farming village at 27.656300, 85.210300 (just paste it into Maps). It’s a bit of a challenging hike, but our nine-year-old managed it fine—and the scenery is absolutely stunning.
We took a cab from Kathmandu for about £5 and paid the Western tourist price of around £80 return for five people. Honestly, it was well worth it. Peaceful, scenic, and a great way to escape the city for a day. Highly recommend!"

"The place has a lot to see but gets very crowded. There needs to be a few more places for snacks, but everything else is fine. There are plenty of places to rest, and ticketing is smooth. Don't forget you get a free ride two ways on your birthday. So take advantage of it. Students get discounts too so carry your ID card with you."

"This is the best cable car I have ever seen. I was literally lost in the clouds. I was a bit scared, a bit fascinated, just looking at nature. It was hot below, but it was quite cold above. And there was a party atmosphere above. Various sporting events and fast food stalls. Highly recommended the place to visit."
